Senior Technical Content Writer

Job description

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our product. You will who work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use. You will be writing technical articles (example at https://support.shortpoint.com) and videos (example at https://www.youtube.com/user/shortpointube/videos) for each of our release or product parts.

Responsibilities


  1. Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  2. Prepare videos for each release feature and our existing product features
  3. Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  4. Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
  5. Convert technical feature to a beautifully written article which is easy to understand for non-technical audiences
  6. Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
  7. Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  8. Create and maintain the information architecture
  9. Ability to rephrase and modify articles and write-ups in a consistent manner


Requirements

Should have


  1. Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
  2. Should have prior experience in creating product videos
  3. Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail
  4. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  5. Excellent written and communication skills in English
  6. Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development
  7. Experience in creating HQ product feature videos
  8. University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
  9. Source and recruit Technical Writers with Workable’s Boolean search cheat sheets.’


Good to have


  1. Understanding of SEO and online marketing
  2. Experience on writing content on Intranet portals
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and its features
  4. Experience of SAP and its features
